Hello All! My name is Rasheda Kelley and I live in Dekalb County, GA with my husband and dog, Brody (He's a mama's dog!). We started Haus of Kelley in 2012 as a way to express my marketing skills and creativity. The French Lilly name derives from fleur-de-lis or fleur-de-lys because I am a New Orleans native. I wanted a blog that would inspire travel and brunch. So I hope you enjoy the site and get inspired! :0)
Cheers to my hometown Nola!! A must have when I visit is chargrilled oysters from Neyows Creole Cafe in Mid-City. These oysters are like no other and grilled to perfection. Located in the Mid City neighborhood of uptown New Orleans, Neyows is well known for their authentic creole cuisine. The restaurant is in my top five of favorite restaurants in New Orleans and everything on the menu is star. If you ever visit New Orleans, give Neyows a try. And don’t forget to try the Bow Wow drink!!
Found a new love for pancakes at Pancake Social. These pancakes are so buttery and will melt in your mouth. We loved everything about the restaurant from the decor to the overall joyous family atmosphere. If you are in the Atlanta area, give Pancake Social a try.
On this trip home to Nola, I was sure to visit my favorite poboy shop to lift my spirits. My husband and I love to sit inside Guy’s Poboys and just let the ambiance of New Orleans sink in. It’s such a great feeling to be able to relax and enjoy a good shrimp poboy all the while laughing about life. This is what Nola is all about to me.
Yayy!! It’s finally here!! Marietta Square Market is now open for some great food and local shopping treasures. Located in the historic downtown of Marietta, GA., the market is a wonderful destination to see what this city has to offer. Whether you are enjoying a cup of Joe at Bread and Butter or sipping Matcha Green Tea at Tiny Bubbles Tea Bar, the Marietta Square Market has something for the entire family to enjoy.
There’s a neighborhood restaurant in Mid-City New Orleans that is serving up great Brunch eats. Katie’s Restaurant & Bar has been a staple in the Mid-City community since 1984. When you walk into Katie’s, you are greeted with the best southern hospitality. The menu is filled with mouth watering options that will have you thinking about your comeback visit to try them. Drinks were flowing as they should on a beautiful Sunday. The staff’s goodbye greeting, “Thanks Y’all”, gave a wonderful feeling of gratitude and unity. It was such a pleasure seeing people from all walks of life having fellowship, the best Mimosas ever, and Brunch. If you are in New Orleans or plan to visit, give Katie’s Restaurant & Bar a try.

The last Sunday Brunch of 2018 was in NOLA and had to be the greatest in my book. I had the honor of spending it with my fellow members from the Krewe of Nefertiti. The Brunch setting was placed at Jack Rose Restaurant on the famed St. Charles Ave. Everything from the food, champagne, to the decor was breathtaking. We had such a great time in fellowship and the music kept the fun and laughter going. If you are in New Orleans or plan to visit, please give Sunday Brunch at Jack Rose Restaurant a try.

My love for Charlotte, NC has just been enhanced by the discovery it’s first female brewery. Bold Missy is awesome! When you walk in, the space is so inviting and modern. I was greeted by Lybby and given samples of the some great Brew. I chose the “Make your (Mess)age” Brut IPA and trust me it was good. Thanks to Heather and Lybby for being so welcoming and willing to humor me about Brunch ventures. I will definitely pay Bold Missy a visit on the next Charlotte trip.
There’s nothing like a great place to sit down and have a cup of coffee. My new go to place in NOLA is Backatown Coffee Parlour. The setting is so peaceful and quaint that you could spend so much time enjoying the morning paper, a good book read, or collaborating project ideas with friends. Backatown Coffee shop is a great addition to places to visit in NOLA.
